‘Dear Dad’: The lifelong journey of a faraway fan to Stamford Bridge, brought to you by BCF winner and artist, Gabin Kongolo.
The cinepoem, powered by @ChelseaFCFoundation, explores fandom from a distance. The film captures the pilgrimage of Gabin’s father Tony, a lifelong Blue living in Cardiff who had never experienced a matchday, on his first visit to Stamford Bridge.
As a love letter to football’s ability to connect families and communities, Dear Dad is a powerful look into how Chelsea and the beautiful game touches those who may never touch its grounds.
Commissioned by Chelsea FC and Blue Creator Fund. Showcased in the Saatchi Gallery from the 22nd-24th of March 2025.
